Bounced in here last Saturday night in a group of 18, stumbled out 4 hours later stuffed full of 101 marvellous ways with cheese and ham and a not too modest quantity of wine. We chose the $40 set menu which included antipasto, a pasta and pizza course and a ricotta tart with vanilla gelato. With BYO and extra drinks we walked out with a bill of less than $50/head, which for Mosman on a Saturday night wasn't too shabby.  Pumpkin ravioli was to die for, I'm going back this week to buy some from the deli, penne with eggplant was silky and fresh and every other dish was, quite seriously a play on cheese and ham.  That said, we had a great night, with a long table set out on the concrete floor of the marketplace surrounded by shiny fresh Mediterranean vegetables, fruits, home made deli goods and a fabulous, yes wait for it..... cheese room.

Thoroughly recommend 4th Village Providore but maybe if you're lactose intolerant you might want to think twice....

The best deli, bakery, cheese shop and restaurant.

Italians know how to live. We simply don't have providore restaurants like this, and this place is booked out 7 nights a week for obvious reasons. The cheese room alone is worth the visit. Fresh fruit and flowers, jams, breads, Proscuitto and salads don't entice? If you don't do the north shore, we are very happy to hear it. This is a secret we don't want to give away. Then the restaurant is excellent value and is kid friendly. If I could pay rent to live here I would. The only place you need to shop and dine. So Brilliant. So perfectlty designed, as only the Italians do. The only gripe is that it can be a little noisy in the evenings as too many people are enjoying themselves over good meal and wine. Heaven

This is a beautiful store to buy food in and it's just got better and better since it opened in Oct 2008 (in the middle of the GFC).  If possible go mid-week as opposed to Sat afternoon as it can be very busy then. The whoie family seems to work here and they are so friendly. Favourite items are the caramalised tomatoes, can team with the taleggio (soft Italian cheese). Also addictive are their own olives caramalised with orange rind. Their own olive oil, the tiramasu, the soups, in fact everything I've tried is VERY good. It's a lifesaver that I shifted house really, so now I'm not so close in proximity!!

The cafe/bistro is also obviously a hot spot in Mosman.

YUM!

Have been here for breakfast and lunch a few times. The food is delish and the staff are always friendly.

Great selection of cheeses, fresh produce and Italian desserts.

Great cafe in the daytime and restaurant in the evenings

Fourth Village is a providore and cafe near the Council offices in Mosman. There's a great deli with lots of home made takeaway food. They have a wood fired pizza oven for crispy thin pizzas and more upmarket authentic Northern Italian mains. They are a restaurant in the evenings on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Good lunch or dinner place

Food is good but pricy.  Great place to take the kids, who can run around in the village square just outside while the adults enjoy a nice meal.   Probably a good idea to make a reservation as this place is often full.  If you can’t get into the 4th Village, try the Lunch Box just two doors down.  It has excellent food at reasonable prices, but it’s a tiny place with just a few tables, so not quite the same “see and be seen” atmosphere that exists at the 4th Village.
