American Express Insurance

Left my laptop in a taxi in Paris.  Disaster!  So I contacted Medibank Travel Insurance, only to discover the fine print says you aren't covered if you lose something or leave it behind as I did.  

On my return, I remembered I was covered as a card member (free of charge!!!) by American Express Travel Insurance.  Within ten days, all formalities were completed and I'd been generously reimbursed.  No fuss, no bother, no run around, no silly phone calls like the ones I had with Medibank.  The insurance company AMEX uses is Ace.

Too few of us know that our AMEX card has this bonus, and we don't avail ourselves of it.  I thought I was entitled because I buy my travel with my AMEX, but even that is not essential

Now that's what I call customer service.  Check it out, and change cards if yours doesn't offer this free service.
