The only thing not to love about this place is the coffee. How they manage to murder Campos beans so consistently is something I will never understand.
And yet in all other ways I dig the Tratt. It's consistency year after year, the view, the laid back yet ultra-professional service and the food - including one of the best brekkies in Sydney - are what keep me coming back.
It's diversity too - breakfast post morning swim? Check. Lunch with friends or family? Yep. Laid back yet fab place to bring os guests for a meal? You betcha.
But for the love of Bondi people will ya fix the bloody coffee!
Great value
I love Bondi Trattoria because of the location with its amazing views over Bondi Beach. I've never had to wait for a table, be it a busy Saturday brunch or weeknight dinner. And it's great value for money given the yummy dishes and the killer view.
Consider yourself warned
Totally agree that the Tratt can do a decent cappuccino and their food is fresh and tasty, but one has to be ready to face some hefty Bondi attitude there -- especially in summer. There is the telltale queue snaking along Campbell Parade on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Go early, go hard, or go home. The Tratt as it's affectionately known in "SoBo" or South Bondi, has the regal view and some fine wait staff. Some have argued that the music is always too loud but I don't find that to be the case. But their prices and patience for the leisurely cup of Joe has run out. They are about turnover. Consider yourself warned.
Exceptional
While In Sydney I had the opportunity to eat at the Bondi Trattoria for breakfast and lunch. I found the quality and variety of food exceptional as well as the service. The beet and apple salad was delicious and my cappuccino with the super foam and design on top was so good. The view of the beach was sensational and the overall experience was great.
