Delicious. This is everything you want from a breadshop.
Oddly but delightfully located in deepest darkest Clovely (and near my house). This is everything you want from a breadshop. I don't mean that they make bread and open early. That is the easy stuff. I mean they make really really good bread and make great coffee too. They also make pastries - again a normal bread shop thing. Their pastry twist - that lifts them from 3 to 4 stars- is that they make them in bite size sizes rather than then ever expanding mega pastries that are now appearing. Means you can pretend that you are not consuming that many calories and butter fat while also dainty and refined. Delicious and (you can pretend) nutritious
Best bread I've tasted in Sydney
I love this place. The staff are delightful, the ambiance warm and spotlessly clean, and the bread the best I've tasted in Sydney. They open early, 7.30 for coffee and pastries, and as my son asked, can we come here for breakfast every morning? No dear, now eat your porridge unless you want to turn into Augustus Gloop.
I agree it's terrific bread
I'm not a huge, regular bread eater, but recently, almost each time I've eaten noticeably really good bread at someone's place in Sydney's eastern suburbs, it's turned out it's from Brot.
It's memorably delicious and, just a few minutes' drive from my place, I think I'm now a devotee too.

Dashed in at closing time. What did they recommend to have with soup? Suggested their personal favourite - a simple Swiss sourdough. Turned simple soup dinner into a treat. Going back for a more leisurely coffee and morning tea with kids...
