Great local beach for kids
More a baths opening onto the sea than a conventional surf beach, this makes for a placid, manageable, very pleasant spot to take kids for a swim. There's also a seawater pool by the baths, more challenging ocean swimming for grownups at the far end of the baths, and an adjacent cafe in the pretty good Seasalt cafe and an even better one 2 minutes walk up the road in Specc (both reviewed elsewhere on this site).
Conveniently, there's parking near the beach including, for a small coin donation to the local surf club, in a cul-de-sac at the end of the road by the park next to the beach.
In all, it's an ideal place for a kids' outing in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
