Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Their ATM ate my card due to an error.
I rang phone bank and let them know what had happened. They ordered me a card to the branch.
Customer Service advised me my card was delivered. Said it would be there in 5 days.
I went to the branch- no card. The bank then tried to tell me they sent it to my house and argued the point with me for half an hour as "picking up from a branch was highly irregular" and found they had sent it to my previous address in St Peters, even though I had updated my address to Redfern at time of the original call- but had explained I preferred branch pick up.
They cancelled card sent to St Peters. They said come back in another 5 days. I did. No card. Why? Too many cards issued so HQ had put a stop on it. I was allowed to access money, but wasnt allowed to have a card. Mind boggling.
Reordered card. Another 5 days. Another cancellation by the system.
After almost a month of not having an ATM card, I almost lost it when the girl giving me another load of cash to get through a weekend without a card tried to get me to apply for a credit card, which apparently could be given to me within two days.
Finally.... on the 28th day, they finally hard a card for me. Why? Because I told them they had two days to get themselves together before I came and withdrew all my savings and changed bank.
The people dealing with the situation were professional- but stuck to rules even though they made no sense and seemed very, very plastic. They only offered real help when I started making a scene and threatened to leave them. And I would have... if there was a viable alternative. Unfortunately it seems like there isn't... Unless someone is actually happy with their bank out there??
