Crumpler: George Street

The George St. Crumpler shop is a great place to get your laptop bag.  And the Crumpler story is great - making messenger bags to carry a flat of beer on a fixie. Have you ever tried to ride a fixie?? This is a bike with one gear and no ability to break or coast down-hill. Not pretty. So, obviously, if you were to be riding a fixie carrying beer, you would need a bloody good messenger bag. And now all the cool kids realize that you don't actually have to *ride* a fixie to be cool. You can just be cool-by-association by carrying a Crumpler bag. It is way easier. And you can do it in a suit.  I bought my hubby a laptop bag at the George St. Crumpler store and was very pleased with the experience.  It is a little hard to find, look on the ground floor of the Strand arcade.  I had called earlier and had the staff put aside the bag I thought I wanted, and it was waiting for me behind the counter. So convenient, since they only had one left.  Good service! And now my guy is the coolest kid on the ferry.  But being non-fixie rider and an east-coast Yankee, he doesn't even realize just how cool he is.
