Part of a national chain of supermarket-size wine/beer/liquor shops, Dan Murphy's is loathed by smaller outlets, who simply cannot compete with their often incredible prices for an amazingly large range of products both local and international. I'm a scotch fan, for instance, and routinely pay $20-$30 a bottle less here than other bottle shops I've patronised.

They also go quite 'deep' in terms of interesting stuff, like foreign wines, rarer spirits (eg. Italian Amaro). Staff is generally very helpful and often extremely well informed, too.

Long opening hours are also a plus. Parking on weekends and other peak periods at this particular branch of the chain can be tricky. Beyond that, though, if it's an item they carry, don't even bother price comparing anywhere else. You won't do better, price-wise.
