My troublesome hair has taken me to hairdressers across Sydney and across Europe, but I keep coming back to Desmond and Molly Jones. The attention to detail is impressive, the timing spot on - none of this appointment at 2 and waiting till 2.45 that other salons seem to think is OK.
Most impressive of all is the fact that they grow their own, and yesterday's juniors now have a following and a style of their own, so you can try out lots of different approaches in the same spot.
I'm not convinced they are more expensive than other comparable salons - and it's money well spent.
Best "mop-chopper"
Just moved to Sydney and was nervous to get my hair cut here as I loove my guy in LA. A friend told me to check out Desmond and Molly Jones and that Elliot is best "mop-chopper" in town. She wasn't lying!! Love my haircut and adore Elliot. He did a rockstar job with the layers and my fringe, and he was so much fun to chat with. The salon is in a cool spot in Surry Hills and has a really inviting feel -- and I was shocked, but it was pretty easy to find parking. Also, thought it was great value for money. Definitely give them a call!
Brilliant Hairdressing if you ignore the price
Moving to Sydney in 2006 it took me 3 years to find the hairdresser I was comfortable with. Leonard at Desmond & Molly Jones is always great cutter, and his knowledge of music ensures the conversations are never dull. Alison upstairs does magic with colour and the overall experience is always a great, albeit expensive, one.
