Detour Cafe

Having worked in the Darlinghurst area every Thursday last year, I started going to Detour soon after it opened. (Just realised it is "Detour Espresso Bar"... not Detour Cafe!) Steve, the owner, consistently makes the best coffee, and he and his wonderful fellow workers, Jo and Brigita, always make you feel welcome. It is one of the few cafes where they know your coffee of choice without you asking!The musical soundtrack is always inspired, leaving you feeling ready to face your day... whatever that entails.Detour makes me think of one of those funky, eclectic cafes one finds in Melbourne, where people talk to one another and the staff are like old friends... something one rarely finds in Sydney.A small place with a big heart... and real chocolate flakes sprinkled on your coffee!
