Can I get a cowbell solo for this awesome drum cave?
Q: What's got nine arms and sucks?
A: Def Lepperd
Q: What do you call the person who hangs out with the rest of the talent in a band?
A: The Drummer
These jokes will not be thrown at you fellow drummers if you choose Drummers Dream.
I have wanted to get into drums for a very long time. A mate of mine is a super talented drummer and seeing him fly around that kit and ducking and weaving in Drummerland (the mythical place where all good beat monkeys go when they get their groove on) is truly inspiring. Knowing this, my string monkey dude (he plays guitar and bass at equally proficient level to aforesaid drummer, hence another monkey) took us to Belmore to get me kitted out... well, when I say kit I mean I got a percussion rack and talked how to get myself up to speed but you get the idea!
This place is awesome and well worth the trip. What I got (full rack with several Toca Blocks, tamba, about four different cowbells- because let's face it, there is NO such thing as too much cowbell!, 5a sticks) was maybe $300 cheaper at what we had priced at Billy Hydes/Allans in the city. The guys weren't showy lil creeps either. They were nice to this middle 30's ex-piano player and set me up with something that I can learn on, have freedom with, not get bored by and yet will grow as I get the skills down.
They also have studio's for prac and lessons available if your keen.
This place kills it for price and service and if you're serious about your gear, or just want to learn how they make the foley sounds for cartoon characters in a laid back setting, Drummer's Dream is the dog's flippin' bollocks.
I give it 4 out of 5 cowbells. Da boom tish!
