Good candy selection.
If you want a big cinema complex with lots of movies, lots of people and lots of snacks, try Event Cinemas, on George Street. We popped over there to see a movie and found it quite good. Plus sides include lots of candy choices and a "Gold Class" section where you can get drink and food service at your table while you watch the movie. Snazzy! Downsides include lots of people, lots of chatting and lots of candy wrappers. Go for the movie and the candy, but not the romantic atmosphere. This is a good option when you are looking to get out of the office for a couple hours on that "big meeting" when really you just want to see Toy Story 3. Oh come on, you know you want to!
Customer service in this Cinema is appalling - the staff really don't want to be there.
I try not to go to this Cinema but took the grandkids for school holidays. After standing in a queue for half an hour while one person served (both ticketing and drinks) while the queue was so long, a staff member came to the internet counter to help serve. As soon as I went to the counter, he told me to wait my turn in the queue (I was next) and it was for internet bookings only. There was no-one else waiting for the internet booking. He was so rude and the poor girl at the other counter was trying to help him fill up food items instead of serving customers who were anxious about missing the start of movies. The staff there clearly don't want to be there and it wasn't even a busy period as it was before Christmas and all the customers waiting were for the one movie. I will never go back there again.
