Perch here with a pre-loved book but make sure you buy a brownie
Smelly second hand books and the best chocolate fudge brownie in Bondi - winter afternoons in Bondi don't get much better. You can perch yourself here with a pre-loved book in an obscure corner, but make sure you buy food because it's frowned upon to take up the limited couch / chair / stool space if you aren't paying something for the privilege. They have all book genres and serve cafe style food from savoury turkishes to way too sweet cupcakes. Have never walked out without at least a $7 steal-of-a-book in tow.
Chill out Mecca
Brilliant coffee and chai together with a seriously good selection of second hand books - what's not to love here?
Ok it's gets pretty cosy and some of the book prices are steepish, yet the range is so good and I don't have to schlep to Vinnies and try my luck for a bargain.
It's an institution now and deservedly so. Cheery service too. And yes the chocolate brownies are good but so are the meals. Even a simple brekky of fab coffee and grainy toast with ricotta and jam hits the spot.
Great for chilling out on my own or catching up for a rave with friends.
