Probably the best chocolate made in Australia
This classic Oz chocolate maker, originating in Adelaide, then torturing the rest of the country for years by taking an eternity to branch across other capital cities, really must be Australia's best.
Famed for dark chocolate, and peppermint frogs, I personally can't go past incredible milk chocolate blocks like rum & raisin and coffee.
If you don't like something at this brilliant, brilliantly run and not outrageously priced chocolate maker, you either (i) don't like chocolate; (ii) may in fact already be deceased and just don't know it yet.
Delicious Chocolate & Wonderful Service!
If you can manage to get to this store at a time when there is no line-up (yes, it's that popular!), it is certainly worth it. I recommend the divine Champagne Truffles - the perfect gift or indulgence for yourself! This is a South Australian Company that does not dissappoint.
Good chocolate, good service
I do really like Haighs. The chocolate is good, and there is a range of really yummy things that you don't find elsewhere. The store also has an elegant, timeless feel. There are 2 lovely things about the service experience: the range of gifts and gift-wrapping including fridge bags for travellers, and the free tasting with any purchase. But I don't especially like the service overall - they aren't that friendly, and seem to have staff stacking shelves rather than serving at their busiest times resulting in out of control queues. There have been many times I've wanted to buy but ended up skipping. They're lucky there is not a luxury chocolate competitor in the vicinity.
