Hayel & Son Alteration & Tailoring

I've only ever been sent to Hayel or his son by that exemplar of sophistication and style, Messini Menswear, whose margins are sufficient (for reasons obvious to anyone who has paid $350 for one of their paper thin men's sweaters) to justify providing 'free' tailoring for any suit you buy, so long as you go to Mr Hayel & Son. So Mr Hayel and I have engaged three times over suits. If you have trouble identifying an uneven shoulder line in a suit, swathes of surplus material around your chest, arms or shoulders, or a wrinkle where things should be flat, then Mr Hayel (or maybe he's the son?) will tell you or your girlfriend, or both, how magnificently the suit fits. He will smile winningly, brush your shoulders with the perfect second generation Italian flourish, take your money and, ironically, make you feel a million dollars. If you point out the uneven lines, bloated material or needless wrinkle, however, Mr Hayel (or son) will acknowledge the challenge, accept the need for further work, do absolutely nothing and, when you return two weeks later - should you succeed in identifying that he has done none of the things you so heartily agreed needed to be done - do the actual repair extremely well, with a smile and, so long as Messini Menswear has paid, at no extra charge. No malice, no bad feelings, just an admirable implied recognition that this is how it is. You are the one-in-ten exception to the rule that the kind of person who pays $350 for a paper thin jumper, and/or is  stupid enough to buy a suit from Messini, will on average fail to recognise that the suit doesn't fit or that the tailor didn't do any of the things he said he would do.  And with that recognition comes the first bud of a relationship that will be excellent value for money for both of you, so long as Messini pays.
