HIGHLAND HERITAGE ESTATE - VINEYARD

Lucknow near Orange boasts the Highland Heritage, a Vineyard and Restaurant setup. And what a set up! You drive past beautiful vines up to a railway car where tastings take place and a restaurant with devillishly yummy food! 

I love the wine tasting- run by a very enthusiast older guy who really knows his wines and what suits the kind of palate based on what you like to eat, the quality for cold climate wines is def high.

Not being a white fan, its really hard to find anything other than a sour face on the menu when the tastings start- but I have to say their current riesling is just sensational! I also am addicted to their Tokay, which is a lovely caramelised popcorn flavoured night cap. 

The customer service is great, the knowledge is high in terms of wine and food matching and its always a pleasant experience. The great thing about the wine tasting too is it isnt just about beating you to death with the whole idea of buying boxes and boxes of wine when unsure. You can walk away with one or two bottles with a smile, wave and a genuine invitation to be back... and I will!
