Amazing prices and range, especially for DVD, CDs and basic tech acessories
Their prices on CDs, DVDs, electronics are as good as you'll find in my experience, and that makes it worth the shortcuts and occasional drawbacks of shopping here. Staff are mostly informed and friendly, and especially great deals can be had on gadgets if you bundle a few items.On the downside, there's the occasionally long lines of customers, and a shortage of staff (often long waits for assistance) that's presumably how they keep costs so surprisingly low. My main experience has been with the store at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney's east, but my few other experiences at other store locations tells me it's a similar story most places. This'd be my first stop for all the products I'd mentioned; or at least compare their prices before finalising your purchase.
No dramas, cheap prices, friendly service.
There are a lot of products in a JB Hi Fi. My typical M.O. is to go into the store, stand in the middle, and look "lost". Then one of the very helpful (usually teenage) sales people jump on over and say, "MA'AM (Not funny, am only 29) how can I help?" And then they go around the store with you, gathering stuff you want. I bought my iPad accessories here and they had everything I wanted. I had to take some stuff back (iPad cover clashed with my other purse OMG) and they were very accommodating. Two thumbs up!
Great prices
Always great for the best price. They had a DVD set for $59 whereas a competitor had it for $29. They matched it no prob!
Great value and selection - but sometimes a hassle
Great selection and prices, generally helpful staff, crowded aisles. I think of JB as a 'no frills' sort of store: I go there because I'll generally find what I'm looking for, and trust it will be at a good price, but accept that the cost for that can be distracted and busy staff and long lines at the register.
