Chocolate Store Killer
Their Hot Chocolates are simply amazing! Beats Lindt, beats Guylian, even Max Brenner! Yes Kakawa maybe situated just a little far (if you call 5~10min walk far) from where everything is around in the City, oh God its definitely worth going.
In fact, everything about the shop is great. Hot Choc, Iced Choc, the truffles and the melty caramel.
Best of all, the smiles of the two owners make the shop so welcoming. I keep going back whenever I have the opportunity. Everyone's gotta go or they're missing out on some divine tasting sweets.
Great handmade chocolates that beat Max Brenner hands down!
Melt-in-your-mouth caramels!
At the end of a lovely dinner party last night, the hostess brought out Kakawa caramels. I thought I was fully satisfied (after two huge pieces of flourless chocolate cake with cream!) but then I tried one of these caramels. They are everything a caramel should be. Fairgrounds and merry-go-rounds. Candy-floss. Apple picking in New England. A cashmere sweater. A birthday party... So if you have the chance to pop in to Kakawa, you must try one. Or two...Or ten...
YUM!
This is an amazing chocolate shop with a very original selection of treats. The caramels are out of this world and the hot chocolate is the best, THE BEST, I've ever tried. If you're in Darlinghurst, this is a must go to.
Willy Wonka has nothing on Kakawa
Kakawa is an absolutely divine chocolate shop! Located in a somewhat unlikely spot, on William Street near Bourke (right around the corner from Miss Chu), Kakawa has fantastic chocolates, and ridiculously good hot chocolate. Also pleasing is that they have a wide selection at many price ranges - from the higher-end truffles (packed in lovely boxes) to plain bars of chocolates, chocolate-covered shortbread, meringues, and caramels. The two owners are wonderful too - so friendly and welcoming. I'm now back all the time, as I can't stay away from the hot chocolate..i
Lovely experience!
I'm not much into chocolate but the vibe and set up of this place, plus the knowledge and care that goes into the product is just sensational.
Well set up, inviting and intriguining, it's a great lil spot to take a friend for a coffee or hot choc, esp if they have a sweet tooth!
I figure at Xmas they must get a bunch of people running through there for gift ideas and stuff to add to the Xmas table as the range, presentation and point of difference they have there is just great. I had the bitter caramel ball and it was just bloody lovely!
Arty chocolate at it's best!
