The perfect place to pass the afternoon
Walking around Surry Hills, I was in the mood for a coffee, but I knew I didn't really need a coffee. But then I walked past Kawa Cafe and I couldn't resist plumping down on the wicker bench outside and ordering a flat white. The outdoor seating provides prime people watching and is a perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a coffee as you watch the foot traffic walk by.
Get in early to claim prime position in the more Surry Hills of all cafes.
Kawa is Surry Hills in a café. It’s the epitome of the inner urban coffee culture. Sure there are places with a broader selection of food and are better value (Kantine around the corner on Campbell Street springs to mind) but at Kawa you get prime people watching. Sit upstairs on the balcony facing the street and watch the girls in floral dresses with boots sit on the street with boys in skinny jeans sporting better hair than you have. While there, have eggs with the hash browns, the perfect mix of flavours and textures. Excellent juices as well.
