Lincraft is awesome.
I was thrilled to find this gem of a craft store a few months ago while on a quest to locate feathers to adorn a Masquerade Ball mask. What a great find in the city! Top marks for convenience, selection and value. Would be a great resource for a busy parent who works in the CBD, and receives a panicked phone call from their kid saying, "Mum, I need to make the entire Solar System out of styrofoam balls by tomorrow morning!"
Impressive array of fabrics, especially Japanese cottons that look like fancy paper. Lots of paper punchy, scrapbooky stuff, yarn, knitting notions and basic jewellery making supplies too.
The only down side are the queues of people waiting to have fabric cut by the "turtles" who are in charge of the scissors at the cutting counter. Ungh!
Overall, a treasure trove of crafty wonderment.
Great craft kits to keep the kids busy on a rainy day
Lincraft is a one of those shops that you can always find something to buy even if you weren't looking for anything in the first place! It has really good and inexpensive craft kits for kids (make a fairy or ladybird or little bird out of pipe cleaners!). Whenever I go to Lincraft I make a point of picking up a few so that I always have one handy as entertainment for an hour or two on a rainy day. I also bought a huge bucket of multi-coloured chalk here about two years ago and we are still only half way through using it up.
Lincraft is also the place I go to for fabric, ribbon and wool. I have also ordered fabric from them online too as it was the only place I could find the red gingham that I wanted!
All up, I'd say Lincraft is a little treasure trove of haberdashery and craft items.
