Jewel in the crown of Kings Cross
This restaurant is a sign of the rapidly changing style of Kings Cross. It is in a laneway behind Darlighurst Rd and has a slightly Melbourne feel about it.
The style is young and vibrant and the cocktails are to die for (try the coconut and chilli martini).
The food is authentic Chinese/modern Asian with some really speactacular dishes. The style is tapas but the portions are generous. It isn't cheap but it is good value.
Great pre-theatre menu!
LL is down a Kings Cross (OK, border of Potts Point) alley that just a few years ago was the sort of place you wouldn't walk down alone if you weren't looking to score (or providing) something illicit. Now the lane is all done up with new buildings, cafes, and restaurants like LL. Intimate, contemporary feel, with delish Asian food. We had the pre-theatre menu (it's super-close to Darlinghurst Theatre) and it was excellent and, surprisingly, a huge amount of food (more than we could finish). For $35 that included a glass of wine, it was good value too. I'd like to come back for a full meal, though I know we'd have to be prepared to spend a bit more.
