Fun beach break while visiting NSW South Coast
Part of Budderoo National Park, near Jamberoo (not far from Kiama) on the NSW South Coast (2 hrs from Sydney) is this very pleasant, quite interesting rainforest, providing an alternative to the endless days on the beach (the main reason you'll likely be visiting the area).
For a few hours at least, there's some lovely walks, some good tree, plant and bird spotting to be done, and a decent visitor's centre and gift shop to keep you occupied.
Bridges over some lovely trickling river beds are particularly worth lingering at. In all, a fun diversion for a morning or afternoon.
