Hats for the headlines
My girlfriend came from New York the other week and we made the requisite stroll along William Street. We, of course, went into Niel's milinery shop and immediately felt his warmth. He made us try on an assortment of creations. Each of them was truly unique. You may not fancy yourself a facinator-wearer, but with Neil's artistry, you can take the leap with confidence.
Gorgeous hats
Neil makes georgeous hats. If you ever walk down William St in Paddington you'll know. But buying one from him is a slightly different experience. You will get what you want, but leave plenty of time (particularly if its for Derby day or Melbourne cup - and I mean at least 2 months!!) and if you don't like what he does initially...tell him! I ordered a hat from him for Derby day. We did a sketch. I went back a week before to pick it up. It was absloutely nothing like what we'd discussed. I took it back. He reworked it once. Then discarded it and started again. I got a beautiful finished product about 2 hours before I had to get on the plane. The deal is, his georgeous hats generally go on the heads of celebrities and the paying public have to push a bit to get what they've paid for. But if you go in with all this in mind you'll have a great experience and you will get a great hat!
