The art flows downstairs and the food flows upstairs.
It's an old Mission building in a tiny back street in Chippendale. Upstairs is the art gallery, downstairs the restuarant. The art flows downstairs and the food flows upstairs. Nikki (art) and Pia (food) work together and plan thematic shows which morph into meals where the artists talk about their work.I took a friend to lunch there a while ago and he said "this place is proof of what a great ciry sydney is. I work just up the road and I'd never heard of this place. " Needless to say he enjoyed his lunch
Great brunch
What a lovely spot Mission is - delicious food, a calm environment, and art all around to inspire you. I went here with some other ladies after a visit to White Rabbit, and had an excellent brunch - and everyone else's food looked great too. It was a Saturday and yet was quiet (some other people, but not crowded), which made for a lovely relaxing time with friends, in which we could actually hear each other talk (such a rarity in Sydney restaurants these days - yes, I'm showing my age). I'd love to come back and try dinner here soon.
