If you drive a bomb, it's a must!
Agree with other posters on this matter - NRMA provides an excellent roadside service and has justified, and repaid my membership since I got my first car (and first in a series of bombs) in 1992. (I have no views on insurance etc, although I guess that's a different company these days) However, punters should be aware - YOU NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE! A mate on my cricket team broke down on the M7 (Sydney) a few weeks ago and discovered, on calling NRMA, that he wasn't in fact a member. They were happy to help him, and sent a service vehicle within an hour, but the on-the-spot joining fee was something like $350! This is a fair-enough policy - otherwise no-one would join until they broke down - but painful in comparison to the much lower annual fee (which from memory is $120-150??).
Yes indeed, you made me unworry
NRMA, yes indeed, you made me unworry. Our car got smashed into from behind. We called NRMA. They had it into the shop, a taxi provided, and returned lickity split. I was thrilled that the service was so easy. It's a worry to have your car smashed. NRMA did make it easy to deal with. So I guess their current advertising campaign is spot on. NRMA I did unworry.
Easily the best car insurance quote I got
NRMA were easily the most competitive, simple to follow and eager to help out of everyone I spoke to for car insurance. Even despite some promotional offers and member discount things for some of the other big names, NRMA's insurance for my new car was more than a hundred dollars less. The lady on the phone seemed like she genuinely didn't mind comparing different prices and adjusting things as I asked about them, her friendly manner made it so much more pleasant to part with a big chunk of money.
As someone who knew very little about car insurance and was a newb to the experience, they definitely helped me out and made it easy to follow. The experience with them was much less daunting than expected.

Couldn't agree more. Never had a bad experience with NRMA, and we have all our insurance with them: car, home, building, contents, you name it. A perfect model of outstanding customer service, transparency, clear communication and fair pricing. I love doing business with them, and can't imagine ever taking my business elsewhere
