One of my favourite places in Sydney. A return to old-fashioned customer service.
The Observatory Hotel is a beacon to me of old-fashioned customer service. The staff are friendly yet discreet, the surroundings are classically beautiful and the location is perfect for proximity to the harbour and The Rocks.
I love the High-Tea on offer in the Globe Bar, the food is delicious and the focus on the tea is great (for a non-coffee) drinker. It is also great value for money in my mind. But forget the diet, you will want to eat everything on the three-tiered platter!
The hotel itself is luxurious in an understated way. Partner & I (with daughter in tow) recently spent the night and loved it. Nothing was a problem and the extra effort they made to make our daughter's stay fun was wonderful. There was a 'mini' bathrobe hanging in our room ready for her and upon return from an afternoon swim in the beautiful pool we found a plate of treats made just for her with her name written in chocolate on the plate. Of course it was immediately her favourite!
To me the hotel offers beautfiul surroundings, genteel service and can be summed up by our 3 year old as we buckled her in the car to come home. "Mummy, I had a lubbly time". Perfect...
