I agree with Shopaholic - the gold standard of Sydney childcare
My two kids both have spent time at Paddo Children's Centre and it's pretty much superb in all respects - lovely grounds, caring and decent childcare staff, good food, a lovely vibe and great skill at keeping the parents involved and informed.
Best of all is their commitment to a ratio of teachers to kids higher than the recommended minimum.
If you can get in (there's always a waitlist), your kids will be incredibly well served by being here.
My only gripe - they don't go all the way to high school.
When my name finally came up after being on Paddington Children's Centre's waiting list after two long years, my first born was settled into another centre and I was reluctant to move him. A friend told me she'd heard people describe PCC as "Rolls Royce" childcare. That was enough to convince me to change over and I couldn't be happier. My two sons have now been under the superb care of PCC and I regard it as the private education they may not otherwise have. It's not cheap ($100 a day on average, depending on age group) but the quality of care is magnificient: higher than legislated child-staff ratios, an award winning chef cooking meals all the adults want to eat and a beautiful atmosphere where children are encouraged to be children whilst learning to have fun and respect one another. My only gripe - they don't go all the way to high school.
