Plate Restaurant: Sydney

Now, I am aware that many of the restaurants in Darling Harbour are really crappy. I have eaten at several and have been underwhelmed. So I didn’t have high expectations for Plate. But I needed some breakfast, and there were lots of people eating there, so I thought, why not? I’ll tell you why not! They were the absolutely worst run establishment I have ever been frequented. So, get this.  They have a new fandangled ordering machine where the server taps in your order. Not rocket science, I hear you saying, and I agree. They have had those at the Cheesecake Factory for like 8 years. Anywayyy. No-one else could take our order! It had to be that one person, who had the machine! So we had to wait for this one waitress to go tapping around all the tables. 30 minutes later, she rocks up to our table and we order. 30 minutes later, our food has not arrived. Finally it does, and they didn’t even try to plate my eggs properly. They were smeared all over the plate and were stone cold. I didn’t have the stomach to send it back and wait for another hour so we just left.  It was absolutely an embarrassment for a cafe. Stay far far away.
