A local identity, kid-friendly, with bar+food for adults, terrific value
We love the fact that we live near the Ritz. It's a safe, friendly cinema outlet for our tweenie kids to go to, plus on the odd occasion the adults actually get to go out you can enjoy a drink on the balcony, with or without a simple bite to eat as well (in fact, I've been there for a glass of wine never intending to do movie as well.)
As well as having a much better atmosphere than a "multiplex" (though it does have several screens) it's also much better value.
And, yes, it's close to lots of other good eateries in the area known as the Spot.
Parking can be an issue (we can walk) but that's improved with a new carpark in a building alongside.
Why on earth am I posting this review - stay away and leave it to the locals please!
What a difference an indie cinema makes
Was here for an end of school holidays flick and struck by what a difference a slightly smaller, indie owned and run cinema makes: actual humans at the candy bar (many big chains have done away with candy bar staff altogether), pleasant ticket sellers who aren't 8 years old, nice and truly clean cinemas, and sound that's crystal clear without blowing the back of your head off. I can't believe my luck the Ritz is, once again since we moved back to the area, my local cinema.
