The Scarborough Hotel

The beerhounds and I have no qualms about saddling up for a day trip to the Scarborough. It is honestly Sydney's (or Wollongong's depending on who you are talking to) best pub. You go there for a cold frosty, a feed and a view that will just blow anyone away. 

My local mates love doing the surf rocks at the base of the pub and then clambering up the cliff for a pub lunch and a few beers.... which should only be attempted by confident, well seasoned surfers BTW as the waves will nail you otherwise. 

The food does need a little work, but the staff are really down to earth and approachable, the drinks selection is pretty good and the view is just amazing. Don't be surprised if you see a few weddings there occasionally - its seriously that nice a backdrop (although it does feel a bit weird being in someone's "special day" in your surf clothes!)
