A relaxed waterside diner
It's not easy to find a decent seaside cafe (or, for that matter, bar) in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. Bronte is a hassle to park, as is Bondi, and the kindly local council only allows you to stay for an hour in many spots. So it's a relief to be able to park the car quickly, walk a short distance and plonk down somewhere where there are superb views of the water, frolicking beachgoers and houses one will never be able to afford. The food is decent (the slightly premium prices are justified by the spot) and the service, while not the Ritz-Carlton, doesn't offend. All in all, a good option to relax over coffee and a paper.
I have given this place a go time and time again
Yes great location, easy parking, easy swimming, all the above... I'm a local and I have given this place a go time and time again... the service here leaves so so much to be desired. I've told staff but message about the inconsistent service and food just doesn't get through.... Perhaps the more customers that tell them, perhaps we'll see some positive changes to match this idyllic setting.
Go for the setting
Fantastic setting with decent food and adequate service. This is a great place for breakfast or lunch or coffee...even in cloudy weather, the location - overlooking Clovelly beach - is fabulous. And parking is better than most beachside cafe locations in Sydney. I've found the food better than I expected - it's not the reason to come here, but it's pretty good; the service I've found just OK - nothing stands out either positively or negatively.
