Selwyn Snowfields

If you have a young family and want to introduce them to the joys of skiing and snowboarding, Selwyn Snowfields is the place to go.

My wife and I took our three boys - 12, 11 & 7 to Selwyn last week and it was fantastic. They'd never been on skiis or boards before - but the young instructors took time and care to show them how it was done and the result? They progressed quickly over the 3 days to the point they were swooshing all over the place confidently.

Selwyn Snowfields is quite a small place so you can see where your kids are just about all the time - this means they have some freedom to explore around the place by themselves while we were safe in the knowledge that they couldn't go far and after the first day, the instructors knew the boys and were always looking out for them as well.

We stayed in Adaminaby - rented a house for the week through Snowy Mountains Holidays - so had a 35 minute drive to the snow each morning and back home each afternoon. It was no hassle at all given the boys were so excited in the mornings and so exhausted in the afternoons.
