Smash Sausage Kitchen

A bit of a win for this stretch of King Street. Halong, the Vietnamese place decided to move two doors down and the premises at 512 King Street has been taken over by Smash Sausage Kitchen. They timed their opening well, with winter being an obvious choice for the type of food on offer - Sausages and Mash. We have been back four times in the short time since it opened. Yes...its good.

The owner is particularly attentive to his customers, prices are very cheap and the simple dishes are done very well. The decor makes sense, the place is beginning to fill up often and they just got their licence to sell booze. Happy days.

The menu is great - choose your sausages, then select a type of mash and add desired gravy. Easy as 1-2-3. There is also a good selection of no sausage options, like lamb shanks, done basically, but well. Sides and salads are always good too. We have also noticed that they are open for breakfast on some days, and will probably offer a much needed new choice of morning food options for the area.
