Bon goût!
A friendly atmosphere, with a suitably young and vibrant crowd to eat dinner with. A must is the vanilla martini, which may have been off the menu but a perfect way to start before you bite into some duck liver pate. And perfectly located if you want to have a few drinks afterwards - right in the heart of some great bars.
Great food, consistently.
I've been here lots of times.
I've given it 4 stars not because they don't deserve 5, BUT we may look for different things. For me, eating out at restaurants is firstly about the food and then about service and then about all the fluffy stuff like ambience and decor.
I feel comfortable going to Tastevin regularly because I'd be happy to eat pretty much everything on their menu (which I have) and their menu changes enough that I don't have to eat the same thing. I feel comfortable with the style to know that each meal is going to be a great feel-good experience.
I've even booked a private function in their small function room which had a set menu with choice. I think the service slipped a little that night but the group was having a good time so it didn't really matter that much. I think any restaurant battles with this balance and on the whole they're pretty good - efficient and courteous.
Oh and the prices are great in my opinion. I've been to lots of restaurants who charged alot more for meals which I feel were inferior to the quality you will get here. Enjoy!
Enjoyable Darlo restaurant/wine bar
I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed it. The food on my most recent visit was actually very good - I'd consider 4 stars but something about the layout/decor atmosphere brings it back a notch. Still a good option for a reasonably-priced out in the inner East.
