Clean and fresh. Eat out and feel virtuous.
Every time I visit Thai Patong I am amazed at the beautiful balance of flavours they are able to produce. Lime, chilli, lemongrass - all mixed to perfection. You'll find no stodgy peanut sauces here - just fresh flavours. After consuming a meal you'll feel satisfied but not heavy or bloated. You walk away knowing you've had a great meal. Am I raving too much? Personally I love the barramundi apple salad. Sounds good? You've got to try it. Their home made ice cream desserts are great as well. The establishment is incredible efficiently run, service is very fast, staff very friendly and attentive. From an organisation perspective the place is a machine. Very difficult to fault it. Make sure you book or else you will be queuing out in the street.
Mind your step...and your credit card
Its been a while since I have been in here, but its clearly popular and the food must be stunning...literally. Every time I walk past there is a group of Newtown tourists who have just wandered onto the footpath after a meal here oblivious to the fact that its a footPATH. I used to put it down to the sorts of suburbanites who a drawn to this place but I have decided it must be something in the food. Maybe its so tasty that diners lose their faculties for a few moments. Who knows.
Whatever it is in the food, the staff must be eating it too. Probably a good sign when the staff eat there too, but not much help when they are so stunned and confused that they leave your credit card unattended in a public area for over 15 minutes. Yep, when it took eons for them to return with my card, I went to investigate and found it myself on a side counter where dozens of people passed every minute. That was the last time I went there.
So remember folks, if you must venture into this place, mind your step and mind your card.
Best thai food in Sydney
I have been here several times and each time the food is fabulous. The mixed seafood dish is the best. All the food pretty much has a different twist to ordinary thai food - it is much better. You will feel quiet full afterwards but all in all, it is great and a worthwhile experience. The service is also excellent.
A gorgeous restaurant with great service, and delicious food!
The service is consistently great here, and so is the food. The dining space is huge, with a nice white table cloth setup. It always seems to get very busy despite the large size of the restaurant. The price of mains ($16-24) are reasonable, especially because it's good food, but it doesn't offer inexpensive lunch specials the way many other more casual thai restaurants in Newtown do. A great place for a nice dinner, friendly and very fast service at a gorgeous restaurant! Good restaurant for a date, too. You even get $ coupons to shop at the gift store they own next door (however, you usually spend more $ by using the gift certificate). Great location in the heart of Newtown, very close to the Dendy movie theatre.
