Union Bank Wine Bar and Wine Store

This wine bar / restaurant is in the centre of old Orange, in Western NSW, something of a food and wine mecca. The wines here, mostly by the glass, are, unusually, all local (from the Orange region) and they're excellent, esp. from the Bloodwood and Word of Mouth wineries. Good, rare boutique beers also feature. The high end pub food includes things like suckling pig and, while not cheap, is, by big city standards, still manageable (around $25 for mains).Best of all is the upscale but still warm and laidback vibe. Along with Lolli Redini, it's the must visit eating/drinking experience in the town of Orange, proper. While you're there, look out, too, for specials like locally made gin (and tonic); and check out the well stocked and run wine shop.
