A wonderful classic Scando furniture store
I agree, this store is a wonderful place to shop for classic Scando furniture. The whole "Danish furniture" thing has really taken off in recent years - so much so, that most folks will look at you askance if you can't pick your Brazilian Rosewood from your Danish Teak! (Åh, det skam!) Many stores have popped-up to service this market, but none are quite like Vampt in terms of range and price. Their Elizabeth St warehouse has two all manner of items jam-packed over two sprawling levels; from top of the range pedigree items in perfect condition for many thousands of dollars to simpler stylish numbers for modest budgets. To be honest, buying furniture this way isn't cheap, but it is very satisfying. Plus, you never really "own" these pieces, they just spend some time with you and then one day move on, as they have many times before. In fact, Vampt are very willing to help you resell or trade-up your old pieces, often returning or even improving on your original investment.
Great Danish design in Surry Hills
Those great Danes really do know how to design a sofa. Vampt is this eclectic Surry Hills furniture shop that has a specialty in Scandinavian, especially Danish design. Their containers from Copenhagen makes furniture shopping fun again. Eleni, who rules the roost at the hip Surry Hills showroom, knows her Eames from her Wegners. She truly seems to like helping you out. If you come in with an odd request, she'll relish it like a challenge. She doesn't want bad owners for these pieces so you get to try it in situ and if it doesn't suit you can try another. It's nice to know that vintage furniture has such great keepers. I recommend the place.
