Smells good, sounds good, is good
This place smells so good, I sometimes find myself popping in and pretending I have an appointment, just to inhale a little. Massage oils, body milks and hand creams fill the tiny and very zen space. Add to that some of the best new age pan pipe music going round and the scene is complete - simply lie down, relax and enjoy. Not the cheapest service you'll find, but a CD collection like that costs money.

The pampering is well worth the expense
Venustus is a lovely experience - it doesn't come cheap, but it is professional and polite, making the pampering a restful experience. The four hand massage is great (assuming you're not ticklish, in which case, it's great and funny), and the products are lovely. All in all, well worth the retreat from the real world for a couple of hours.
Absolutely worth it
Venustus is perfect for busy, massage-loving (or other spa-service-loving) professionals. I am sure that it is perfect for others as well but I'm most familiar with the first type of need. Open 7 days including most public holidays, open late and the women who own/run the place (sisters, I think) somehow always manage to juggle schedules to squeeze you in. The facilities are small -- it's not a day spa where you lounge for hours -- but immaculate and the services are among the best I've ever had. The massages are excellent, especially if you splurge for the "four hands" (or are lucky enough to get complimentary extra hands for 10 minutes, as often happens). They do great pregnancy massage with a doughnut pillow so preggies can actually lay on their stomachs. Facials are excellent too. More maintenance type services are top notch as well -- manicures, pedicures, waxing. And they will often try to do them at the same time for you so you don't need to block out as much time. (This of course frees up their rooms faster too.) There is the standard upsell with products at the end but no more so than any other place and their products are usually organic and gentle. (Obviously I've succumbed to the pitch on a few occasions...). Venustus is not cheap but it is absolutely worth it.
Perfect service, and services
This is a spa with attention to detail, which results in a calming, pleasurable experience from start to finish. As AnnieNat mentions, it's a small place more suited for coming along by yourself than for a group spa excursion. The facials are excellent and gentle (no crazed, aggressive beautician squeezing your face or giving you lectures), and the lovely hand and foot massage makes them super-relaxing too.
