My first choice butcher in Sydney
Your first visit to Victor Churchill will be as one of the numerous sightseers who pass through to see how you can possibly spend $1 million on fitting out a butcher's shop. It is a remarkable space with mood lighting, a glass fronted room where the butchers perform their craft (order a boned chicken and watch while one of them works his magic), and a second glass fronted room where hanging carcasses slowly revolve as they dry age (the back wall is apparently made of blocks of Kashmiri salt that are replaced every 3 months). While you would be right to expect that a setting like this translates into higher prices, the impressive quality and variety of the produce and the friendly and knowledgeable staff make it my first choice butcher in Sydney.
VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!
I was EXTREMELY excited last Christmas when I opened the gift from my wife and found out it was a cooking course at the famous Victor Churchill.
Having waited 3 months for the first available course, I sadly I couldn't make it due to work commitments and was told rather bluntly that the fine print said no re-scheduling, refunds or flexibility of any kind.
You'd think for $350 for a 3 hour course they would be a little more accommodating! I even offered to buy another course if they would re-arrange...they still said NO..actual quote - "...the answer is no and that's the last word on the matter".
Be very careful that your life won't change for at least 3 months before booking...
