I hate going to hair salons where they're so busy being cool that the customer is way down the ladder. Kate Neill - and all the Chop Shop staff I've met - listen to you, are very pleasant and open and make the whole experience more enjoyable. What I look for in a hairdresser is someone who really listens to you and gets what you're after. Well, that's Kate. She takes the time with you - I've been going to her now since 2008 and every cut she does is better than the last, and they're all good! Her blow dries are stellar too. I leave Chop Shop on Victoria Street feeling like a million bucks. However the prices are really reasonable and the products they use are great. Highly recommended.

Hairdresser Kate Neill is a rock star!
This hip spot virtually opposite Kings Cross Station is my new favourite hairplace, being the place to where I followed my favourite hairdresser, Kate Neill. Kate's excellent: skilled, efficient and a fun person to boot. On top of that, the place is very well run, with appointments starting on time and the prices reasonable ($60-ish for a cut, pretty good for the East of Sydney). Well worth a try if you're thinking of trying a new hair spot.
