I'm just ok with their service and practices but that's as far as I'd go

On the plus side, I've almost never had a security breach with my ANZ Visa card (bar one skimming incident that the ANZ identified and was able to reverse reasonably painlessly); and obviously, it's convenient to have and widely accepted. But - and maybe this is unique to the ANZ brand Visa cards - a lot of the business practices associated with the card seem on the sharp side of fair to me. I seem to pay quite a lot each year for various memberships and card renewals; Visa is merciless about imposing penalty fees if I'm even an hour past my deadline to make a payment on the due date (much more, say, than American Express seem to be), and, worst of all, the date between when I receive my paper statements and the payment due date is NEVER more than about 8 days, which to me is not only not a long time, but seems almost designed to give Visa the best chance of having its customers miss their payment due dates and get saddled with those aforementioned penalty fees. So, while it is handy to have, it's only through gritted teeth that I can say I'm 'just about ok' with my Visa card.
