Eclectic spot for a drinkie

It was on my second Lychee Martini that I decided I like The Winery.  Sitting on the patio, in sunglasses, nibbling on my seared salmon and orzo lunch. So "Sex & the City."  I usually go to Manly Wine (also by Gazebo) on the beach in Manly, and this was almost as lovely (minus the stunning ocean view at Manly).  Same menu exactly.  Great spot for an afternoon of chatting, drinks and good food. Especially on a nice, sunny day. Two thumbs up!

Perfect spot for a sunny afternoon with girlfriends

Very ladies who lunch, but with an urban twist.  Lacks some of the pretention of its sister spot in Elizabeth Bay, so for those of us who want an upscale alternative to the coffee catch-up with friends on a weekend -- but refuse, wholeheartedly, to wear heels when not required to -- this spot fits the bill. Add in a reasonably priced cocktail menu and it's a great lazy lunch option.

A good one for the girls

A lovely destination to catch-up with the girls, there are so many nooks and crannies to settle-in with a glass of vino.Whether enjoying a pitcher of sangria on a sunny afternoon or having a nightcap upstairs on one of the plush sofas, The Winery is ideal all hours of the day.

Superb location, good drinks and service, excellent food from the people behind Gazebo Wine Room

A dark, sexy, fancy fitout and Crown St Surry Hills location are no guarantee of quality, unfortunately. On the other hand, the fact this place is from the owners of Elizabeth Bay's terrific Gazebo Wine Room was promising. And happily, this newer spot is even better than the original. The food is standard Oz/French bistro but delicious: steak frites, charcuterie plate with good toasted bread; grilled salmon, etc. Great wine, spirits, and cocktails (I had a v.good Negroni) also abound. Service is well informed, quick and pleasant if a little erratic (they're all v. young, it seems). It ain't cheap (4 of us, admittedly with a lot of drinks) was about $300. But it was an extremely enjoyable experience whiling away the hours there and I'll be back in a heartbeat.

Fabulous spot for a leisurely lunch, especially with cocktails

The Winery by Gazebo, like it's sister spot in Elizabeth Bay, is an excellent place to come for cocktails - especially in the afternoon, as the place gets glorious light.  The pear crumble cocktail in particular is dangerously good.  The food and service are good, though not necessarily distinctive.  Great for a group.
