The fairest credit card company to deal with (in my experience)

Businesses seem to complain about the cost of providing Amex credit card services, but from my experience, they're more consistent, reliable, pleasant to deal with, compared with, say, VISA (whose credit card services I use through ANZ).Most notable, for me, is Amex's '1 grace day' policy (maybe it's only how they conduct themselves in practice), whereby they won't charge you the exorbitant penalty fee for missing your due date payment if you get your payment in within 1 day of that due date. They understand these things happen, while VISA, by contrast, seem to relish the opportunity to gouge you with that late fee, without flexibility, and no matter how long or how loyally you've been their customer.I'm also pleased with Amex's end of the month payment due date approach, and the fact they seem to be able to get your statement to you such that you have about 30 days to pay your bill. Again, that's to be contrasted with VISA, who give me all of about 8 days to pay my bill from the date I receive my statement, something that leaves me, yet again, with the rather unpleasant feeling they're actually hoping I miss my due date so they can jam me once more.Amex's new (at least new in Australia) online system for checking and paying their bills is also to be applauded.Overall, it's a card that's not only handy to have, but one I've always had a reliable and agreeable experience in dealing with.
