Pocket rocks it

Periodically there is a burst of incoherent noise from the South claiming Melbourne is a superior city to Sydney. The list of alleged reasons typically includes unconvincing vagueries such as "European feel", "Sports capital [unless you like rugby or league]" and "the seasons [i.e. t's cold and dark half the year]". The one reason that has always resonated, though, is the small, cool bars that characterise the Mexican capital. Until now. Cos we've got Pocket. Pocket rocks it for at least 3 reasons:

(1) It's cool, but welcoming. This automatically makes me feel cool too. Which I'm not.

(2) The table service is very good, including at busy periods. This is so unexpected I feel like proposing to the waitress. And let me tell you, one could do a lot worse.

(3) They are open at all hours, including that dead period in the 3-5pm zone where Sydney eateries of all kinds resemble the Marie Celeste.

I could throw in the availability of tasty crepes, huge bowls of delicious French fries and Cooper's Pale Ale in the bottle, but that would be 4 reasons. Just go there.
