Spudd's Gym review by Died On Hold

Train with a Rugby League legend

Rugby league followers over 30 will remember Mark "Spudd" Carroll as one of the largest, hardest-working front-rowers of the 1990s. Poached by Manly (natch) from Souths, Spudd won a premiership in 1996 and represented NSW in 7 State of Origins and Australia in 12 Tests. After a post-football stint as Russell Crowe's bodyguard, Spudd opened his own gym in Woolloomooloo. Very much in the Rocky-style, rather than the Fitness First style, which I approve of, the best thing about Spudds is that you are trained by the man himself. He is still a huge unit, and bloody fit. He's also a lot of fun. With regular reasonably-priced circuit classes, or pricier one-on-one sessions to choose from, you have a choice of ways to get the Spudd experience. Well worth a visit.
